Disease is present world-wide. Contracted by intimate contact with infected person or through blood. Therefore, the precautions are as with {AIDS}. The vaccine gives a good degree of protection, but takes up to 6mths to become fully effective. It is advisable for healthcare workers & those likely to come in contact with blood products to be especially careful.
